Jon Cheyne is the Director of IT at the National Theatre, with over 20 years in managing technology in the charity sector. Starting out the honourable way, on the service desk, he moved into software development and eventually website development at the beginning of that revolution. Jon delivered several "version 1" websites for charities who were just finding their feet, moving from early online "leaflets" to full content management systems, often open source.
Working for organisations such as Friends of the Earth, Shelter, Cancer Research UK and recently the V&A, Jon has always had to deliver more for less - customers expect the same experience regardless of the organisation's budget. Although born and raised in Scotland, Jon has lived in London most of his life and sees himself as a Londoner now.
